Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do I need Braille menus? Why can't someone who is accompanying the blind person read the menu to them?

A: While in some cases a companion might read the menu to their blind friend or relative it is usually very inconvenient to do so. In addition, people who are blind enjoy the independence of having their own version of the menu.

Q: But my menu changes and what about my "daily specials"?

A: At Braille Enterprises we can make the necessary edits to your menus as often as you like. We will only charge for the new output pages. As far as the "specials", you can still have a server read them at the table--  (they usually do that anyway, don' t they?).

Q: But I don't have any blind customers..

A: Just because you have not seen blind customers at your restaurant does not mean that they are not "out there". Frequently blind patrons will go to a restaurant that better caters to their needs (in another words, has Braille menus available).

Q: I probably can't afford such a specialized service..

A: The real answer is you probably can't afford NOT to have Braille menus available to your guests.  Also, the prices to convert your materials are very low and we offer a money back guarantee!

Q: There are not many blind people, why do I need to offer such a service for so few people?

A: There are over 12 million blind and visually-impaired people in the United States.   Each one of them is a potential customer. Think of all the lost revenue this can amount to!

Here is what some customers are saying:

"..when I go into a restaurant and someone says that they have Braille menus, my face really lights up...it's as if I struck gold. It makes me want to frequent that restaurant as often as I can." ------ Steve Britt, Springfield IL.

On a Brailled Greeting Card--

"It was perfect. My dad totally flipped. Thanks again, I look forward to ordering from you again." ----- Catherine Badalamenti, Coconut Creek FL.

"Thank you so much for the wonderful Braille cards that you offer! I am sighted and my boyfriend is totally blind. I bought him one of your  Christmas cards and he really loved it - I hadn't realized that in  addition to my customized message, there would be Braille on the front describing the snowman scene and surrounding details. I will definitely order from you again, for Valentine's Day, birthdays, etc. Additional   thanks for keeping your prices extremely reasonable, barely more than a regular greeting card can cost at Hallmark. --- Brenda, New York NY

"I just wanted to thank you so much for the opportunity you gave us to give a Christmas Card to a friend in our Sunday School Class. He was very happy to receive it. He told my husband and I that was the very first Braille card anyone had ever given him. Our friend said it is something he can keep because the Braille is printed on plastic instead of paper.  Thank you for the work you do and the joy you helped provide for one person that we know". --  Nellis and Vickie, Shepherdsville, KY
